The Montana cable television industry first began in 1954 to bring television
service to people who lived in areas that were not able to receive television
broadcast signals, in those early days that was just about everyone who
lived in Montana.   Since those early days, the cable industry has grown
from a fledgling business venture into a dynamic telecommunications
industry!

The Montana Cable Telecommunications Association has proudly served
Montana cable operators and their customers for the past half century.
Currently  Montana Cable operators serve over 153,200 cable television
households via
approximately 75 cable systems throughout the State.
Today
Montana cable customers enjoy an ever increasing variety  of
programming choices to meet their n
eeds entertainment, news, weather,
educational, sports,  public affairs and
much more.

Many  Montana cable systems now offer their residential and business
customers high-speed Internet access, data services and telephone in
addition to the current digital and analog video service.   The cable
television industry is exciting and dynamic with amazing capabilities yet to
come .

Today the Montana Cable Telecommunications Association represents many
cable/telecommunications companies serving 56, mostly rural, communities
throughout Montana.
